An Honest Guide to Floral Preservation
Who Will Be Working on My Flowers?
By Sarah Ebert, CEO & Founder
There Are Real People Behind Your Frame.
When you ship your flowers to us, you are trusting someone you have never met with something that cannot be replaced. We think you should know exactly who that someone is. This is a straightforward look at the people who make up our team, the training they go through, the standards they are held to, and why the structure of our operation is built the way it is.
A Team Built Around Specialization
Pressed Floral is not a studio where one person handles everything from intake to shipping. Different studios structure their teams differently, and there is real value in every approach. At Pressed Floral, we have built a team of specialists, each trained specifically for their role in the process. That structure is what allows us to offer the consistency and accountability we hold ourselves to across every piece we make.
Your blooms will be handled by a preservationist, a designer, a framing specialist, and be quality checked before they ever reach you. Each of those people knows their role deeply, and each of them is responsible for the integrity of your piece at their stage of the process.
Our Preservationists
Our preservation team is responsible for the most critical stage of the process. When your blooms arrive at our studio, they go directly into the hands of these team members.
Preservationists at Pressed Floral receive extensive training in order to work independently on client pieces. That training covers the handling and preparation of hundreds of bloom types, the specific techniques required to position each flower for the best possible press, and the ongoing monitoring process that takes place throughout the weeks your blooms spend in our presses.
This is not a role that can be learned quickly. The range of bloom types, moisture levels, and conditions that our preservationists encounter requires a depth of knowledge that is built through repetition and experience.
Our Designers
Once your blooms have been fully preserved, they move into the hands of our design team. These are the people responsible for transforming your pressed florals into a finished piece of art.
Our designers receive extensive training covering every design style we offer, floral repair techniques, arrangement principles, and the communication process with clients. They are not simply arranging flowers attractively. They are making considered decisions about composition, spacing, color relationships, and how the piece will age over time.
Every designer on our team works directly with clients through our app throughout the design phase. They will see your feedback, respond to your questions, and make revisions until you are fully satisfied. Your designer does not move forward without your approval. That direct relationship is something we have built deliberately, because we believe the person making your piece should be in conversation with you throughout.
Our Framing and Fulfillment Team
Professional framing is not an afterthought at Pressed Floral. It is a skilled stage of the process handled by team members who are trained specifically in the standards we hold for every finished piece.
This team also oversees the final quality review and packaging of every piece before it ships. Each frame is carefully inspected, then packaged using methods designed to protect framed artwork in transit. Nothing leaves our studio without passing through this final stage.
Our Quality Standards
Every piece that leaves our studio has been reviewed at multiple points throughout the process. Our quality standards are not a final checkbox, they are built into each stage, from the condition of blooms entering the presses, to the design approval process, to the inspection that happens before packaging.
The volume we operate at means our standards have been tested across an enormous range of bloom types, arrangement styles, and client expectations. We have encountered nearly every scenario that can arise in this process, and we have built our quality protocols around what we have learned.
A Note on Scale and Personalization
We work with a high volume of clients, and we’re proud of the experience and stability that allows us to support that scale with consistency and care.
What we want you to know is that scale has never meant impersonal. Your blooms are handled by real people who take their role seriously. Your designer communicates with you directly. Your piece is reviewed individually before it ever ships. The volume we operate at is made possible by the structure of our team, not by cutting the parts of the process that make it personal.
You are not a number in a queue to us. Every arrangement that comes through our studio represents a moment that mattered. Every member of our team knows that and it shapes how they show up for every single piece.
