Plan Ahead: Which Flowers Retain Shape and Color?

Every single flower is different in the way they require special attention and preparation for professional preservation.

The results of the preservation process will also depend on the freshness of the blooms when they arrive to our shop. If you send already yellowing flowers, they will yellow further in our process.

Although we can preserve most flowers, there are certain flowers that tend to hold their color and shape better than others through the preservation process. Again, we believe in the beauty of naturally aging flowers, and don't use any chemicals or dyes to work against their nature.

BEFORE AFTER

Expect Colors To Change

Pressed Floral is determined to preserve flowers in their natural state. Because Pressed Floral uses all-natural methods of preservation and does not use any toxic chemicals or artificial colorings in our process, color changing and fading will be evident in your final piece.

Depending on the unique makeup of flowers, pigments such as Chlorophyll, Carotenoids, Anthocyanins, Flavonoids, and Betacyanins will degrade when oxidized. In Simpler Terms:

Naturally Dried Flowers = Less Pigment

All-White Bouquets

At Pressed Floral, we work with all-white blooms. Many Floral Preservationists choose not to work with all-white florals due to their tendency to brown throughout the preservation process. While we respect this decision from a design standpoint, we believe that every bloom deserves to be cherished forever. Things to keep in mind when placing an order for your all-white blooms:

DESIGN TIP

Add greenery and filler flowers to your all-white bouquet to add contrast and depth to your final frame!

Freshly framed Aged over time

How can your blooms change

Blooms age over time

Even the freshest picked, brightest flowers will end up aging even after being sealed securely into the frame.

Preserving blooms naturally is important to us, to be able to maintain the texture and wrinkle of the preserved bloom. With no dyes or chemicals being used this allows for natural aging of the blooms over time.

Just like the finest art pieces in the world, your Pressed Floral piece will change as the years go on.

the beauty in your aging piece

What we create is an heirloom, one to last forever, and to be enjoyed. Just like many things in life, this artwork changes over time, and what a beautiful thing.

Like us, the flowers will age, but the meaning behind them stays the same. The memories and love we share, last forever.

Variety or Uniformity in Your Bouquet

Our team of skilled designers have an eye for form, shape, color, harmony and balance. But there are some choices you can make for your bouquet that will make your pressed frame stand out.

More uniform arrangement More Variety in blooms

Understanding Variety and uniformity

Something to keep in mind when creating your arrangement is whether you prefer dimension and variety in a frame, or a simple and uniform look.

Arrangements that showcase more variety of bloom sizes, colors, and textures allow the final design to have more movement. If this is the style you prefer, ensure your arrangement has adequate filler flowers, colors, and blooms types.

If your bouquet is more uniform, we can still design stunning frames to showcase those blooms. Expect the final pressed frame to look more symmetrical or geometric, as there are less types of flowers to add movement. These types of bouquets can create elegant and simple pressed frames, that house the memories from your event.

At Pressed Floral, we love both uniformity and variety in arrangements, and are committed to creating a custom fine art piece that you will cherish.
