How should I expect my flowers to change color when preserved?

It is very likely that your blooms will change color during the preservation process. There are many blooms that stay vibrant, and stay true to their original color. On the other hand, there are many blooms that do and will change color during preservation. It is a natural part of the drying process and is to be expected with certain blooms. The most common blooms that will change color in preservation is pastel colored roses, Dahlias, Red Roses, and others that are featured in the diagram to the right. 

If you were to hang dry your blooms, the color of each bloom changes color over time. The way that color changes in blooms naturally by hanging, is similar to the color change that occurs when being pressed. 

White flowers can change color during preservation. Many change to a yellow color. Especially lisianthus, white roses, and all white peonies.

Blooms are worked with in the condition that they arrive, as well as we do not artifically enhance any blooms with dyes. Any blooms that come wilted will be either deemed unworkable, or the wilted coloring will be preserved. 

White blooms can continue to fade over time. As experts in preservation we hold vibrant color at the time of preservation and framing. Many blooms hold their color well, others can brown over time. White roses, and pastel pink roses tend to take it's natural course to continual color change. 

All types of fine art have fading over time and can represent many things. If you are not a fan of natural fading and color changing, floral preservation may not be for you.
