What Is the Timeline From Start to Finish?

An Honest Guide to Floral Preservation

What Is the Timeline From Start to Finish?

By Sarah Ebert, CEO & Founder

One of the first questions we hear from clients is: how long does this take?

It's a fair question, and we want to answer it fully, not with a vague estimate, but with a real picture of what is happening to your blooms at every stage and why each phase takes the time it does.

Our process takes several weeks from the time we receive your blooms. Every week of that timeline exists for a reason, and understanding those reasons tends to make the wait feel very different. We understand that this process takes time. Our priority is making sure you feel informed, confident, and cared for at every stage.

Why Our Timeline Is What It Is

Floral preservation cannot be rushed without compromising the result. The most critical stage, the time your blooms spend in our presses, requires a minimum of six weeks to ensure that moisture is fully and safely removed, that the blooms are stable, and that the integrity of the petals is protected throughout.

Compressing that timeline to produce a faster turnaround would mean delivering a piece that is more prone to mold and deterioration over time. We are not willing to do that. The timeline we have built reflects what the process actually requires.

Our volume also plays a role. Because we accept orders on an ongoing basis throughout the year, our queue fluctuates with seasonality. Wedding season brings a significant increase in volume, which can affect how quickly blooms can move to our design stage. We are always transparent about current timelines throughout the process via a bi-weekly email update.

Intake and Initial Pressing

Your blooms arrive at our studio and are immediately logged and transferred to our preservation team. Within hours of arrival, your florals are prepared and placed into our custom-designed presses. Our preservationists assess each bloom individually, making decisions about how each flower type should be positioned and handled for the best possible result.

Active Preservation

Your blooms are in our presses, in a climate-controlled room where humidity, airflow, and pressure are monitored continuously. During the first several weeks, your preservationists will remove your blooms multiple times to swap out pressing paper and check on the process, ensuring no moisture remains that could affect the outcome. This hands-on monitoring is part of what makes our preservation process different from a passive one.

Stabilization

Once the active pressing phase is complete, your blooms continue to stabilize in our climate-controlled environment before moving into the design queue. This phase ensures that the blooms are fully ready to be handled by our design team without risk of damage.

Design

Your blooms are now in the hands of one of our professional designers. This is where your piece takes shape. Your designer will arrange your blooms, and you will be notified through our app that your design review is ready. From here, the conversation between you and your designer begins. You will see the arrangement, give feedback, and request any changes. We do not move forward until you have given your approval.

Sealing

Once you have approved your design, your piece enters the sealing process. This phase is what protects and sets your arrangement permanently.

Framing, Quality Review, and Shipping

Your sealed piece is professionally framed, reviewed by our quality team, carefully packaged, and shipped to you with tracking information provided.

 A Note on Seasonality

Our timeline fluctuates with the seasons, and we want to be upfront about that. Wedding season brings a meaningful increase in volume, which can extend the time between certain stages as our queue fills. We communicate current estimated timelines clearly at the time of purchase and update that information regularly.

If you have a specific date by which you need your piece, an anniversary, a holiday, a gifting deadline, please reach out before purchasing. We will always tell you honestly whether that timeline is something we can meet.

Big Picture

From the moment your blooms arrive at our studio to the day your finished piece is delivered, our process typically takes 12–20 weeks.

That range reflects the care built into each stage, from preservation and stabilization to design, review, and finishing, as well as natural fluctuations in volume throughout the year.

Because every set of blooms and every point in our queue is different, once you place your order, you’ll receive a more personalized timeline through accurate updates specific to your piece. We share a range here to set clear expectations, but your experience will be guided by details unique to your order.

While we know this can feel like a significant amount of time, it is a timeline designed to protect the integrity of your flowers and ensure the final piece is something you can keep for decades to come.

Throughout it all, our commitment is that you are never left wondering.
