An Honest Guide to Floral Preservation
Start Here: If You’re Considering Pressed Floral
By Sarah Ebert, CEO & Founder
We believe your experience starts before a single bloom is shipped.
With that in mind, we designed this post to cover two things: what to know before you purchase, and what happens if something doesn’t go according to plan. We’ve put them together intentionally, because they belong together. Knowing how we handle the hard moments is just as important as understanding how the process works.
Step 1: How Does This Work?
When you purchase a Pressed Floral piece, you'll ship your blooms directly to our shop. We know that handing off something this sentimental to a carrier can feel nerve-wracking, and we don't take that lightly. Our shipping guide walks you through exactly how to package and protect your florals in transit, and our team is always available if you have questions before you send them.
Once your blooms arrive, they go directly into the hands of our preservation team, and a process that spans several weeks begins. This takes time, and that time is intentional. A full picture of what happens at each stage is available in our Timeline & Process post, but the short version is: we will not rush it, because the longevity of your piece depends on getting it right.
Step 2: How to Choose What You're Ordering
Below is an overview of different factors to consider. Click here to explore our in-depth guide on designing a frame.
Step 3: What Expectations Should I Have?
We'd encourage every client to feel settled on the following before moving forward:
Timeline
Our process takes several weeks from the time we receive your blooms to the delivery of your frame, often around 12-20 weeks. If you have a hard deadline, please let us know before purchasing. Full details are in our Timeline & Process post.
Color Change
Pressed flowers will shift in color from their fresh state and will continue to age gently over time. This is natural, it is beautiful, and it is something we believe in fully. We never use artificial dyes or color correction. Our Color Change post explains what to expect in full.
Design Interpretation
Your piece is handcrafted by a professional designer, which means no two pieces are identical. Design is an art, not a replication. You will have direct input and unlimited revisions, ensuring you leave with a piece that you love.
Care for Frame
Where you hang your piece matters. Direct sunlight, heat vents, and high-humidity spaces all accelerate aging. Our Care for Your Frame post covers everything you need to know.
A Final Note
We are a professional preservation studio that approaches every piece as a fine art commission. Our team is trained, our process is structured, and the scale we operate at gives us a depth of experience, across bloom types, arrangement styles, and preservation challenges, that informs every decision we make.
Because of that, our work is intentionally thorough and our timelines reflect the level of care each piece requires. Every decision is made with the long-term integrity of your blooms in mind, and we are always transparent about what that entails.
If that aligns with what you're looking for, we would genuinely love to work with you.
